Crocodile is an online platform and smartphone app for schools and parents to facilitate the organisation of walking busesto school To engage the children, the app enables gamification through reward schemes for pupils, classes or year groups.Crocodile will also create useful analytics for schools, helping them understand trends in walking bus activities.
Our solution aims to promote confidence in parents. It will deliver a positive confirmation of arrival and a secure approachto digitised personal details. Importantly, Crocodile is designed to make it simple for busy parents to book their childonto a bus. As parents ourselves, we understand how busy parents' lives can be.
Reduced car travel means environmental benefits, and an active start to the day ensures health benefits and increasessocial interaction between children. The final benefit is in education – research has shown that children who walk, scootor cycle to school arrive more alert and ready to learn.
Application development notice
Crocodile App has been through two pilots, and is currently in redevelopment to conform to the data protection rightsguaranteed by GDPR. As a result, we are taking a break from piloting and returning to a cycle of development. We willmake an announcement through the website when we are ready for our next batch of pilots.

All About Team Crocodile...
The idea from this app was born out of the
Green Capital Digital Challenge
and has grown a lot since then. We are 5 individuals, all IT/digital professionalsand the majority of us are in the web and marketing space along with one team member who is a Sustainability expert helpingorganisations improve environmental and social impact.
We're trying, in some small part, to tackle a problem that affects most people at some stage in their lives - gettingtheir kids to school. We're promoting a way to get kids who would normally be driven, yawning and groggy, to walk orcycle to school with a group of friends and arrive bright eyed and alert. We're aiming big too - there's no reason thiscan't be applied nationwide or even worldwide. We're excited, and we'd like you to come along on our journey
